Today was an exciting day because we had our first official “library time”. We talked at length about the importance of keeping books in good condition before we went. Once in the Library, Mme Marin used two bunny puppets to explain the library routines. Once bunny only speaks French and the other bunny is learning French. Here is a picture of Thomas and Thérèse.
Today students were allowed to check out 1 French book. These books must be returned by Wednesday morning next week. You may want to have the books back to school by Tuesday just to be on the safe side. Also, please don’t expect your child to be able to read the book they brought home today. You can look at the pictures together and take a guess at what the French words might be saying.
Luckily the rain held off so we could enjoy both our recess and lunch play times outside. Following our quiet book time, we worked on a little “s” book. Students had to colour, cut and glue pictures onto the pages of a simple booklet. Take a look under “Classroom Pictures” to see the students hard at work. This was a pretty complex task and only about 3 or 4 students didn’t have enough time to completely finish. We will be practicing reading this booklet and I will send it home tomorrow for you to keep at home. I hope to also post a recording of either the class or me reading it so you can practice it at home.
