Our First Fire Drill!

The days seem to go by in the blink of an eye sometimes!

Wednesdays are a little more difficult on the students because we stray from our usual routine a little.  We have library in the morning followed by our outside time.  We then have our snack and then our play time.

Today in the library, Mme Marin showed us a slideshow about Canadian hero Terry Fox using her Smartboard.  we also saw a YouTube photo montage of Terry Fox to the music “Keep Holding On” by Avril Lavigne.

This Friday is our Terry Fox Run (I hope you all received the e-mail I sent earlier today with details regarding our ‘run’).  Please try to send a small donation to school with your child on Friday.

Today we met our second Hugh Boyd student who will be helping every other day in the classroom.

In the afternoon, we learned some words with the sound ‘a’ in them and then we practiced printing the letter ‘a’ (upper and lowercase).  At 2:15 p.m. we had our very first fire drill.  The students did extremely well, as did the whole school!  We were outside in 2 minutes 15 seconds!  Way to go Dixon Dragons!

As I post to the blog, I am learning new things about how to make things more efficient for me.  As a time-saver I am going to put the day’s pictures in a password protected post rather than the “September pictures” page.  The password will always be the same as the one I e-mailed you before.

Reminders:

  • Food orders are due Friday
  • Please submit school fees a.s.a.p
  • Plastic envelopes should come back the very next school day if possible (I think I almost had all of them come back today!)
