It was great to see everyone again this morning. We quickly got back into the swing of things around here.
First thing this morning we starting learning our new sound of the week.
Students coloured the ‘oi’ page in their phonics books. After they were finished, students began to play. It was pretty noisy today as everyone was very happy to see each other again. It was an inside day at recess. After recess we slowly made our way to gym. We had a VERY long clean up so we were late to gym.
After gym, we did calendar with the special helper of the day (me). After calendar I read the students a book about robins. We learned that in spring the robins make their nests to lay their eggs.
After lunch we had partner reading and cloud time. We went on a signs of spring scavenger hunt outside. Everyone was very excited to point out all the flowers, blossoms and new growth around! I took a lot of pictures of their “evidence” of spring until my camera battery ran out. Luckily I charged my spare battery yesterday but didn’t bring it outside with us.
At the end of the day I had the students draw what they had seen outside. They did some lovely drawings of blossoms, flowers, spiders, pinecones etc. We did our end of the day jobs and then it was time to go.
Your child should be bringing home with them today the April scholastic book order forms as well as a pink newsletter about whooping cough.
See you tomorrow!
