Tuesday the 17th!

I’m running out of catchy blog post titles!

Anyways, we had a full day today.  We started with reviewing the ‘z’ sound, letter name and corresponding action.  Then, students did some awesome printing of the letter z in their phonics workbooks.

Next was playtime, recess and then calendar.  After calendar we reviewed the parts of the insect (la tête, le thorax, et l’abdomen).  We sang “Head and Shoulders” but substituted insect parts for the regular words.  Next we did an activity where students had to label the correct parts of an insect.

After lunch was partner reading, cloud time and then I read the class a few books about insects.  One was about where insects live and the other was just to look at. It had lots of neat pictures of insects.

Our last activity of the day was a math word problem.  Some students got it so quickly I had to give them bonus questions!!  We did our end of the day jobs and then it was time to go home.

Tomorrow is library day!  Also, tomorrow I will be sending home the Jump Rope for Heart information/pledge sheets etc.  It’s quite a big package of stuff so keep an eye out for it.

See you tomorrow!
