Hello! It was another productive Monday around Room 15.
Today we started learning about ‘é’. In French this accent is called ‘un accent aigu’. It makes the sound <ey> like when you say the word ‘hey’. Students coloured this page in their phonics books. After finishing their work, students began playtime. After recess was gym with Mr. Ferguson. I believe they are working on basketball skills (dribbling, passing etc.). After gym we did calendar and then I introduced some Valentine’s day vocabulary and then students had a few minutes to continue colouring their February portfolio cover pages.
After lunch, we had partner reading followed by some cloud time. We finished the afternoon by doing a Little Red Riding Hood math problem (which apprently didn’t seem like a problem at all! After explaining the activity, someone asked “So what’s the problem??” It was pretty funny.)
Library is back on it’s regular day this week–Wednesday. Friday is TWIN DAY at Dixon. Wednesday is PIZZA DAY. There is a banana bread bake sale this Friday. All items are $1.
